I shot this in New York's Washington Square Park. My intrepid crew and I offered passersby a chance to write a love letter to whoever. We handed them a pen, a sheet of paper that already said "I Love You" on it, and an envelope with a stamp on it. More than 100 people took us up on our offer. Then about 60 of those people let us film them reading the letter they wrote. That's what this movie is: real people reading real love letters they weren't expecting to write. It's a tear jerker.
